DIYLovely light green brick mould for your plants, herbs, and seeds
When spring and summer arrive, the garden starts to bloom, and it's time to move outdoors to plant seeds and herbs. Use the classic brick mould to plant your little green miracles in - and create a new fresh look by spray painting the brick mould in a lovely light green colour. Finally, add a decorative text on the side of the mould.
You will need:
Brick mould
Sandpaper
Primer spray
Spray paint in light green
Text template
Hobby knife and scissors
Glue and painter's tape
White paint for the text
Small brush or sponge
Spray varnish
Plastic bag
How to do it:
1. Start by cleaning the brick mould and then sand it lightly to make sure the paint will adhere nicely and evenly to the mould.
2. The brick mould should be spray-painted outside. Start by giving it a coat of primer spray. Let the primer dry completely.
3. Spray-paint the brick mould in the light green colour. It may need two coats or more for the colour to cover properly. Let the paint dry completely.
4. While waiting for the paint to dry, you can print out a text template on thick paper. Cut out the letters with a hobby knife.
5. Place the template with the cut-out letters on the side of the brick mould and secure it with painter's tape so it doesn't move.
6. Dab the light green paint around the edge of the letters to seal the edge, so the white paint won't bleed under the template. This way, you will get sharper/cleaner lines. Let the paint dry completely.
7. Then, use a small sponge or brush to dab the white paint onto the template - give it two coats if the first coat doesn't cover.
8. Finish by giving the entire mould a coat of spray varnish to seal the paint. Let the varnish dry completely before using the brick mould.
9. Cut a plastic bag to fit into the brick mould. It should be able to go all the way down to the bottom and up along the sides. Glue the bag to the upper edge all the way around.
10. Now, you can put soil in the mould and plant your seeds or herbs in it.
